Since her election to the Senedd in 2016 Dawn has promised to be a strong voice for the communities of Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney. From her constituency office she runs a strong casework service helping thousands of constituents in relation to problems with employment, housing, mental health and wellbeing, health and other public services.

It is these experiences which allow her to speak with great knowledge to her Welsh Labour colleagues who serve in the Welsh Government to make sure they understand the link between government announcements and policies and the reality on the ground.

She is an active supporter of community groups and events across the whole constituency.

Dawn provides regular outreach services and is active on social media to keep constituents up to date on issues and on her activities.

As a Labour and Co-operative Member of the Senedd Dawn recognises the importance and immense value of directly delivered public services but she also believes in the strength of local communities coming together to discuss and develop co-operative solutions that can help build resilient communities. Dawn always remembers it was such cooperation in the town of Tredegar, in the neighbouring constituency of Blaenau Gwent, that helped to inform the experiences of Aneurin Bevan and his work which give birth to our great NHS.
