In recent weeks I have undertaken a piece of work on the 20mph default speed limit locally and invited the views of constituents about speed limits on local roads. I have also corresponded directly with a number of residents of specified streets.
I am publishing this draft report. Final decisions regarding speed limits on local roads re taken by the local highways authority (Merthyr Tydfil CBC and Caerphilly CBC) in the light of national guidance.
The new Cabinet Secretary for Transport will be making a statement in the Senedd about the next stage of work in relation to the default speed limit (23.04.24).
