Local MS Dawn Bowden has urged the Leader of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council to take urgent action to ensure our borough has the leisure facilities it deserves.

In her letter to the Council Dawn Bowden MS says:

“The continued closure of the swimming pool in Merthyr Tydfil is a significant concern to me and the local community.

 

“I visited the pool last week to see the scale of the problems and to talk more with a representative of the Leisure Trust. From my discussion with the representative from the Leisure Trust I am clear that the problems at the pool are the responsibility of  Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council and urgent action is required.

 

“The continued closure and the ongoing uncertainty over the future of the pool in Merthyr Tydfil is having a detrimental impact on the wellbeing of our residents and the local economy. Therefore, I urge the Council to act.”
